Looks like Chromebook can get new security updates that are useful at several points in the future – maybe. According to Chromebook, this is still in the process, so Chromeos users will not see it.
The feature in question is an indicator of password power, which may not sound significant because you might see a similar indicator before – this one will be built into the operating system itself. Similar to some web site account creation tools (and some password managers), Chromeos will make a kind of visual indication of the overall power of the password.
Given the current state of feature development, it is not entirely clear how this will appear in action, but it is likely to take the same approach as managers and other password indicators. This means that several forms of colored indicators (such as red to weak, yellow because they are okay, and green for strong), maybe with the accompanying text to further explain what improvements can be done.
This feature is not yet available for the general public, but there are ways for users to get preview access. What you need to know is the right chrome code. Why are there people who need notification of the power of passwords on their OS?Currently not available in the Chromeos developer channel, but about Chromebook said the code can be activated by “Chrome: // Flags#Password-Strength-Indicator” after exiting. It must be released in the near future, and trying to activate the current features will not be painful, even if you are still earlier.
One of the benefits for Chromeos that makes your own password strengthrecommendations is that not every website offers the same politeness when a new account is created. And except that is a requirement, most of us may not think too much to make a more complex password. In this way, more people can be encouraged to protect their accounts a little better.
This extends to the existing password too. Even if you have held an account for many years, the indicator of password power will tell you if what you use is weak or not when you try to change it for any reason. And if what you plan is not considered strong enough, you can always update it into something that is a little more difficult to crack.Likewise, as useful and highly recommended such as password managers, they are not used universally. So password management coupled with this encouragement to use a stronger password acts as another way to improve users’ online security gradually. Assuming they are completely following a strong password recommendation guide. It won’t help much if they ignore it.
